As soon as the brunet girl crossed into the large town, she knew instantly that something was… different. She had been there once before, but that was when she was with her mother. She went to a hotel complex and rented a room. She only ever stayed in one place for a small amount of time. She knew well about the consequences about what would happen if anyone found out about the world of the night, and she was well aware that any relationships out of her kind were strictly forbidden. That didn’t stop her though.
Her next destination was the hospital, in search of ‘work’. She walked carelessly, with a spring to her step and a carefree smile on her face, swiping a few stray strands of her chocolate her from her face. The moon was full and bright, smiling down upon her. She tightened her pink scarf around her neck tighter with her small-ish pale hand as a gust of wind brushed over. She looked to the moon and smiled in spite of herself.
I see no man of the moon. She laughed to herself. She kept walking, walking towards a new shop she hadn’t seen before. It was a white magic shop, for residents of the night, as she liked to call people like herself. Maybe I could get a job as a piano teacher or something. There were a lot of things to do in the grand city of L.V.

He was walking from the hospital towards his home. He was a surgical technician at Children's Hospital, and his shift was over. He looked up at the sky. He was hungry, and was scanning the empty Las Vegas streets for someone to take out on a date for dinner. Granted, he probably wouldn't get into a relationship, but if he wanted to... of course. He was a shapeshifter. He could make himself irresistible. Of course, he decided to go for his usual appearance: Pale skinned, with dark ash-blonde hair and golden eyes set in a fine-featured face. He let his body shift and change into a man thin but muscular, in a form-fitting teal shirt and grey pants. A delicate smile formed on his face as he saw via moonlight that he was walking towards a chocolate haired girl. He decided to be seventeen for tonight.

When she noticed the male walking towards her, she instantly knew that he was not human. He looked to be freaking perfect. Maybe another witch? She asked herself but shrugged it off. If the male was coming over to her, she wouldn’t say anything. If he didn’t… she still wouldn’t say anything. She continued to walk, acting like she didn’t notice him steady walking closer. She continued to think where she would be helpful. Maybe a children’s hospital if I could get in. I’m pretty good with children… okay that is a lie. She wasn’t really good with children for she hasn’t been around them a lot, but that’s where she would start off at. God, I hope I don't mess up again. Do they even have children hospitals in Las Vegas? It's the freaking gambling city of America. Oh well. I'll find out eventually. Her thoughts started to wander slightly and she was once again thinking about the male. He wasn't really that close, but she knew he was coming towards her. He was now in the line of sight.

As he grew closer, Octaviar began to pick up on the brunette's thoughts. She was fretting over finding a job, and basically screaming telepathically about a children's hospital. Naturally, this caught the surgical technician's attention. His pace slowed as he got closer. Further observation told him that this strange girl was not used to the city yet - she was new. He also realized that she was a witch - a Night Person, just as he was. He laughed softly, coming to a stop to the side of this chocolate-haired girl. He was silent for a moment, and then he said, "Do you need help with something?"

To be truthful, it caught her off guard. Dammit. "Nope, but thanks," She replied as kindly as she could without saying something sarcastic or rude. It wouldn't make the best first impression. She was mentally kicking herself due to the fact that this random guy was talking to her, and that was most likely non-human. “Everything is okay,” This caused her to slap her hand against her forehead. If that wasn’t rude I don’t know what is. There goes the be-nice plan. “Do you need something?” She asked back. Her hand was gripping her scarf, twirling it around in her hand. Her other hand was resting on the messenger bag strap that was placed on her shoulder. She knew that this was bound to go somewhere bad. But that didn't stop her from making a friend.

"No. I just... um. I know most of the people here, except the tourists, and I didn't recognize you, so -" he bit his lip and frowned. That was embarrassing, the way he very often spilled his soul to strangers for no reason. "- I was just wondering if you were here on vacation or something." He finally finished his train of thought, severely editing it as he spoke. He ran a have through his hair, looking amused and irritated at himself at the same time.

"Nope. I travel 'round a lot. Two days ago I was like 'Hey! I should go to Las Vegas!' so here I am. Tourists are just a bunch of frilly hum- I mean people," She said the last sentence quickly, hoping that she could cover her speach mistake. Oh crap. Let's hope he didn't notice that. She swept some of her brown hair behind her ear, indicating she had a bad habit when nervous. "How do you even live is Las Vegas. I mean, I've been her before once with my mom, but I were here for three days," Because she died.

"You'd be surprised with the connections we have here," he smiled, pretending to ignore her 'humans' comment. Then his eyes changed green for a split second, when he knew she was looking at them. "It's simple to live here, if you know the right people and neighborhoods." he smiled. "Are you planning on staying here for a while?"

She noticed his eyes flicker green for a second. Shapeshifter. Cool, have met a shape shifter. I feel privileged. She smiled warmly. "I plan on staying for however long I can keep a job, that is if I can get one. There should be many due to the fact that this is Las Vegas, but I'd rather have a job in a hospital of sorts. I'll take what I can get though," She shrugged her shoulders.

"I work at a hospital," he said, amused. "I can put in a good word for you, if you want." He smiled gently, eyes turning to the night sky. It was a beautiful night.

"Oh really now? That would be nice, thanks." And to think he doesn't even know my name. She laughed to herself quietly. "The name is Noir, by the way," She extended her hand. It was polite in the human world, as she studied. We jus' keep beating around the bush, don't we? We're both from the same world anyway. She sighed, but smiled back at the shapeshifter anyway. "What medical field do you work in?" She asked, being curious.

"Noir," he repeated, smile widening as he took her hand and squeezed it gently. He nodded gently, "My name is Octaviar - and... oh. I work with the technical stuff, in surgery." He laughed. "It's pretty simple~ and you get a lot of down time."

"Nice to meet you Octaviar. Cool. Surgical. Blood is not something I am good with though only because I have seen a lot of it. I fail epicly at technical everything, though. Last cell phone exploded. I am not even joking either. I'm better with bandaging and needles and creams," She smiled shaking his hand back. Well, ain't he friendly. She mentally laughed. He really wasn't that bad to talk to in the middle of night.

Octaviar grimaced. "Needles most definitely are not my forte," he admitted a little sadly. Then he laughed, "I will still put in a good word to the director of medicine to accept any girl named Noir~"

"You do that," She paused in thought for a second. "Why are you even how here at night when most people would be asleep?" She asked, certain that he would give her the answer she was looking for. Wait.. why do I care? He's a freaking shapeshifter, I am a witch. Are we even supposed to be talking with each other?
