The house was as silent as still as a tomb. The curtains were drawn keeping the early twilight light out, and the deepening shadows of dusk in. Dust lingered about the furniture hardly used while a grandfather cloak clicked morosely in its solitary corner. There was a fire in a fireplace in-between two giant bookshelves. Next to the fireplace—which glowed blue—there was a chair made up of cushions on which sat the owner of the depressing home. She was glowering at all the shelves which held her books. With a snap of her fingers the books began to fly before her face in dark colors of red, blue, black, green, and brown, all with glittering letters written across their surface. She was obviously searching for something. Her dark eyes were carefully scanning each book that went before her. At last, the commotion settled down and she was left in exasperation. “It’s not here! Why is it not here?” She yelled out loud, getting up off her chair to stomp through the library’s door. She was looking for a book about the execution of lamia, it was technically a triste book but studying such subjects never bothered her. What did it matter if only triste could use the spells? It was interesting to read! However, the volume in question was missing. No, in fact, she probably never had it, and if she had had it, her brother would have stolen it from her. Damn him! May he rot in hell! Worthless wizard that he was. Alexandria brushed her long braid of black hair off of her shoulder. She’d simply have to go to the market. There was no other way… the only problem with that was she’d have to find someone off the market who could get the book for her. Humans wouldn’t be able to get near the stuff. At the bottom of the stairs leading down from the second floor, which was where the library resided, Alexandria dawned her grey-blue jacket, mentally reminding herself to buy dye so she could turn it into a black jacket. It wasn’t very cold out, it was just that she liked being very warm. Outside there was still a bit of light left. She scowled unpleasantly, adjusted her glasses upon her face and walked toward the door. Her boots made hollowed echoing sounds on the wooden floor, whispering dooming words in her ears. “The outside world is bad…..the outside world is filled with humans….the outside world…” “Shut up,” She muttered opening her large wooden door and walking out into the world. The trip through the crowded streets to the official central square was horrifying. Humans were everywhere! The nightfolk were of course scattered in their midst’s, but she disliked them too. They all only thought of themselves, just a bunch of short lived idiots who waste their pathetic lives on even more pathetic trivial things. Alexandria sighed and stepped toward a booth by a dark alley. She’d had luck there finding something before…however this time she needed information on who the best black market seller was. The book would not be easy to get.

Brian liked Walmart. He in fact actually loved it, it was a market inside a market. Brian hated when actual humans tried to shove in on his business, he was a top Black Market man and he only sold to the Night people who knew what his stuff did. Human just wanted his good for the sake of bragging of to all their neighbors.
Brian took a deep breath, society was so much simpler back in the day. Witches were so much more common you would have to be living in a cabin in the middle of nowhere not to find them.
Ah how Brain missed the witches, finding some in Canada just didn't happen it was to peaceful up and if god had any mercy he would kill anyone who played hockey and spare Brain the hate of hearing anything more about it for awhile.
Brain made his last sale for the day and headed off to party and drink the rest of the day away

((errr... brain, or david? o.O XDD ))
Alexandria glared at the man in front of her. He was a low class black market artist who only knew the names of those who could actually do something decently. She’d been trying to be nice by asking directly if he had information on who the best dealer was, and he’d been stammering about her buying something. Finally, her patience snapped. “Listen,” Alexandria said, leaning in close, her right hand pulling out a wicked looking switch, unlike in faerie tales wands really didn’t do the magic, they just helped direct it specifically at someone instead of a general audience, it worked especially well in close combat situations. “I will give you three seconds to stutter out a name for me before I turn you into a frog, do you understand?” Alexandria’s voice sweet, low, and deadly. Her dark brown eyes were narrowed into daggers while her hand clenched around the wand. She was not joking when she said she’d turn him into a frog. She’d done it before, and she could do it again. “B-brain! Looking for a man named Brain! Look! He’s over there!” The man pointed towards someone walking in the distance, someone who was walking away from them. Alexandria sighed in exasperation. “Damn it,” She muttered, turned away from the man and started to walk quickly towards her prey. However, she did not miss the chance to throw her wand over her shoulder and shout an incantation. That man would have seven days of very bad luck, hopefully, it would be so bad he’d never go into business again. She hated idiots, today, that broker was THE idiot, therefore, the one who got the hex. “Hey! You!” Alexandria called out, completely forgetting the guys name as she shouted. Frustration made her lose focus, but if worse came to worse, she could always try to use magic to manipulate him into walking towards her.

(i was trying to remember without looking ) Brain turned into an ally way he felt someone following him. He needed to change back to his "outside of the market" name. He slowly changed to the man that he knew best. His light brown hair was slowly washed over until it was black. His brown eyes took on their old blind appearance. He became the man who no one knew. He became David Khun again. He used Brian Shanders as his black market name. It was a dangerous business and it would be worse if people actually knew who he was. That last comment made him laugh, he was anyone, he could be a young boy and 5 seconds laster an old senile man. David walked out of the ally. He was hoping the he had lost whatever might have been chasing him.

(( lol. Nice, well, that was a really good cover up))
Alexandria paused, completely thrown off. The guy had stepped into an alley way just a little bit ahead making her lose sight of him earlier than expected. She cursed under her breath, glared at a bird fluttering by and threw a very black, nasty word at it. Luckily the bird escaped the word, otherwise it might have became a roasted pigeon. She was pissed, and depressed. She’d really wanted to find that book tonight! Now she’s lost the one person who could have possibly gotten it for her. Scowling she headed for the alley way, watching a dark haired, possibly blind person coming out. “If that idiotic Brain person got away I’m going to curse his business to hell,” She muttered, only half serious. She’d only curse him if he couldn’t get her the book.

David was almost in a rush back to his apartment. He wasn't in the mood to fight Night People, especially a witch. He made sure to get Rat to follow this witch. He needed to know who this person was and how dangerous they were. Rat was one of David's underling who was one of his spies. If anyone could find out who this was it would be Rat.

Alexandria sighed, finally deciding to give up on the chase. She wasn’t going to catch anything tonight, especially not that book. Ticked, she slammed her fist into a nearby wall while her moody eyes swept the scene before her. A couple was walking by hand in hand looking cheerful, happy, pleasant. She scowled, a lump rising to her throat. Happiness was something that deserted her a long time ago, though it could at times be found in reading her books. Perhaps that is why she loved them so much, they at least were a safe zone. The path that led back to her mansion house ended up being more twisted than usual. She could feel eyes on the back of her head several times, but didn’t bother to tell whether it was a lamia or a stalker. Either way, if they tried anything she’d blow them to pieces. Having things spontaneously combust was her specialty after all, a gift from the dark arts. Finally her familiar iron gates loomed in front of her, the first door in three that had to be opened in order to get inside her house. Slowly her hand reached towards the gate as she whispered the words for it to unlock. The gate opened with a complaint. She hadn’t oiled it in a very long time. Alexandria slipped through, shut it, and walked inside the house, feeling completely dejected. She hated the outside world. There was nothing there but empty promises and disappearing brokers! May they all rot.
((time skip to the next day perhaps? ))

David woke up sleeping in a gutter. Damn he must not have made it home before the shots took place. He liked to drink when he changed it made the pain go away from the major changes. He got up and stretched out his bones, he ached, 400 years of life wasn't kind to bones no matter what kind. David went back to being Brain, maybe today he would visit Target, looks of Night's went there and Walmart just had to many humans.

Cold sunlight filtered into Alexandria’s eyes waking her up. With a groan she slowly got up from her bed, her eyes only half open as she adjusted to the light. Funny, she couldn’t remember opening those curtains. Maybe she should just move the bed instead… An hour later Alexandria was dressed in a green and black outfit, the skirt being a checkered Celtic styled skirt with a metal belt around the waist, and her top was a camisole with lace underneath a very loose knitted black top. The only thing left to do was place her glasses on. Looking at herself in the mirror, she looked scary. Her face was set in a permanent mask of determination. Today she would get that book, and today she would finally be able to rest at piece for a little while longer. Come to think of it, her twenty-first birthday was next week. Maybe she should buy two books, one for pleasure, one as a reminder that she was getting old, not that she had to worry. She’d stopped aging at eighteen, her inheritance day. “Gah, what’s the point in having birthdays when a person doesn’t age in the first place?” Alexandria muttered and headed for the door. Again. The whispers returned. They sang their haunted phrase, and they left once her hand was upon the door knob. The world was not something she was going to be afraid of, it was just something she was going to hate for all eternity.

David was having a slow business day. What the hell he thought, he had only been getting humans, none of the Night People would even walk his direction not even his normal customers. David left Target, business was just bull and he wasnt going to sit around and do anything any longer. David went into the men's room and became normal David.
When he left the bathroom he felt a presence. It was something strong, its will was contagious. If it wasn't for the fact that he worried about his safety he would have loved to meet someone who had that kind of power, she would have to be one hell of a witch. The Target sliding doors opened smoothly and when he stepped outside he felt a pair of eyes on his back. He hadn't heard from Rat in sometime he was starting to get worried.

Alexandria paused, a familiar feeling creeping up her back as she passed someone walking by her. She shivered. She hated meeting familiar things. However, this was a little too familiar; she turned around to face the person she’d just passed by. “Wait!” She said, it sounded more like a command than a request. She wasn’t very good at asking things nicely. Meanwhile, she fingered her wand, just in case the person did something. She didn’t recognize him, but his presence was beginning to echo strangely in her mind. “Do you know anything about the black market?” She questioned again, stepping forward. People could hear, she was sure, but they couldn’t condemn her for asking a popular question, besides, they didn’t know what she was after.

David stammered as the witch in front of him was questioning him. He wanted to answer but he couldn't he wasn't Brain. He tried to shake her off with the usual human idiot response "I'm sorry ma'am but i cant help you". He wished he could have but that could jeopardized everything he stood for. He tried to walk away but he felt a power around him stopping him.
Now this was why dealing with witches was hard they were persistent. If they didn't get what they wanted they would throw a giant sissy fit, yet somehow someone always ended up dead in the end. Hey who knows maybe she was nice.

Alexandria smiled slowly, slightly amused. Her eyes however only became darker. "Can't you?" She replied, stepping forward, keeping her gaze fixed on him. The closer she got the more she could tell his aura wasn't human, which meant he must at least know about the night world society, that alone was good enough for her.
"I think you're lying," Alexandria commented, her voice absolutely cool. She was actually furious. She'd spent TWO days OUTSIDE searching for the freak who could get her that book! She was not about to let it just slide because he didn't feel like talking. "Do you know what happens to people who lie to me? If you haven't guessed, let me tell you, I work in the dark arts, so think carefully about your answer."

David couldnt help but laugh at that, a witch never had any patience they were always gimme this gimme that, it was like a dealing with a 3 year old. Davids last thought was to shape shift he really didnt want to be seen for who he was but she was a witch so it wouldnt matter.
David pulled out a small metal bottle from his pocket. He shot it all down and proceeded to do a quick change into his next favorite form. a mouse!
"Look im sorry but i really have no clue what you were talking about" David squeaked
With that David tried running into the street as fast as he could.

Alexandria smiled darkly, amused. He could shift all he wanted, but she had his flavor now, a flavor that was very hard to lose. She neatly tucked her wand back into her pocket before proceeding down the street. She had a map on her today, one that would be very useful in finding the shifters next location. He could hide all he wanted, but unless he had a charm of some sort to ward her off, he wasn’t going to get very far. “A game of chase, a game of fun, watch the cat put the mouse on the run…” Alexandria muttered to herself pleasantly, humming a little tune as she went to cover the ever so subtle spells issuing from her mouth. There! She had a lock on the beast, now she’d only have to figure out how far he was to run before stopping.
