occ; AMDRU! -tackleglomp- YOU ARE ALIVE!
bic; "It would be over..." she intoned, tilting her head to the side, "unless you care to stay with me?" Her hand shifted just slightly in his her cheeks warmed slightly with her embarrassment. She glanced at his eyes and instantly regretted it; she looked at her feet in a pretense of nervousness. It would be easier if she could make a decision, but not with her looking like that.

((Sorry ^^;;;; I got caught up in lots of stuff. Last week was the plays opening and ending weekend for stuff.... ^^ I got to play the part of a crazy nurse with a thing for injections. lol there are pictures on facebook, btw. =) ))
Ambrose chuckled, leaning towards her, his eyes intent on their prey. βAnd what if I said I could stay? Would you run away?β Ambrose asked, thinking My sweet little prey, doth thou believe in monsters? If not, I am afraid tonight ye shall meet such a thing. He gently tightened his grip on her hand before winking at her slyly and moving off the beaten path. He was headed towards the town still, only the difference was that his direction lay away from the lamia a half-mile away. Distance was relative to him, and thankfully the wind was with them, for now.

[ Okies, I will look at that as soon as I get the nerve to deal with my PC instead of my mac. xD I can only handle the old thing about once a week. THe nurse sounds creepily cool. : D Ohs, and don't forget that they will eventually stumble upon Aboiye. Oh my, I totally remembered how to spell his name WITHOUT LOOKING. ^^ SCORE! ]
Krestal shook her head from side to side slowly, her expression dropping like a deer in the headlights - like she was truly captivated by the vampire before her. "I wouldn't run away from you." She blushed, a real blush this time, when he winked at her, and she followed his lead kind of helplessly. Then, mentally, she snapped out of it. Krestal Abforth, keep it together. she warned herself.

((Dang, you're one step ahead of me then! I still can't spell his name, lol, and he's MY character! XDD ))
Ambrose took a strange comfort in having this human girl place her hand in his, and promise not to run away. Of course, that promise was absolutely one-sided seeing as it wasn't so much a promise as a simple way of saying, "whatever, like I need to be scared of you." Somehow though, the thought that he could possibly scare her made him feel uneasy, a feeling he rarely had. He glanced at her, catching the trace of a blush fading from her cheeks. She was trully lovely with that spot of color causing her face to... what was he thinking? Lovely? This creature? This thing that was his food? What was he? A sudden admirer of the human race? Ambrose snapped his head quickly forward, his eyes hardening where she couldn't see them. She was food. So, if she was a meal, why did it hurt so much to think of her as such?
The sky was becoming darker still, the moon was shining brighter yet as a lone figure glanced sadly up into that night sky while whispering a bitter-sweet promise into the air. He looked like an ordinary human, around thirty years of age, of African decent. He inhaled deeply, sending out a wave of magic to touch his bounty. there, thirty yards away, with another being. It seemed his bounty had already chosen a victim. Aboiye sighed heavily, part in relief, part in worry. Thankfully the beast hadn't feasted and taken yet another precious life from the earth. However, having another being around would... complicate things to say the least. Aboiye smiled sadly and began to walk forward steadily. Well, whatever the outcome, he was not about to let this vampire take another life. Life was a precious thing, something which he had to much of. At times he envied humans who had only a single span for which they could experience life at its fullest. He, on the other hand, hand a plethora of years to slowly move through. Without his purpose in life, without his drive to kill all evil, perhaps he would have given up long ago... no, if he had not this drive he wouldn't have lived this long. These hundreds of hundreds of years.
A twig snapped beneath his feet, Aboiye paused, allowing time to judge the creatures reactions. He should smell him by now. He was surprised that the youngster hadn't finished off his meal before now. Usually they didn't waste time, but perhaps this one wasn't use to being hunted or threatened. Ah, that would make things easier for him and the human... or was it a human? He was getting a very different sort of vibe from the young woman beside the beast. Aboiye smiled, happy. Maybe this person was just the sort he wanted to meet?

[ xDDD Whoa, that's interesting. ] She saw the emotions in his eyes before he turned away, and she inwardly smiled a true Triste smile - but... he had looked so hurt, and that made her heart hurt. She sniffed, edging closer to him, "Is something wrong?" Her voice came out in a whimper, like she was terrified she was doing something wrong. But when she inhaled she caught the scent of - well, Triste. One of her kind. That worried her, just a little, because (just as the other Triste was thinking) it did complicate things. She turned, just slightly, using her periphery to scan the scape around her, and saw a young man whose eyes looked far, far older than that. This might actually make things better, in case things got out of control - not that it would, of course.

"Wrong? Why would something be wrong?" Ambrose replied, leaning down to catch a heady wiff of her scent. His mouth was watering just a little, yet somehow despite desiring her blood in the usual way, he didn't want a drop of it. It was the strangest thing, it was like an instinctual repulsion that he couldn't understand. First he had wanted her, now, he was drawn to her in a way completely separate from the thirst of blood. It was making him uneasy... and... a twig snapped, Ambrose's clear eyes snapped immediately to where a figure stood looking like any other thirty-through forty year old man might, if he didn't happen to be in the middle of a small forest while the night was still young. Ambrose's arm moved to wrap around Krestal's waist, another instinctual move, yet strangely lacking its usual predetermine meaning. Instead, it felt more like... possession.
Aboiye stood tall, making eye contact with the young Triste before him. The girl being a Triste changed everything, and even explained a few things, but why she hadn't yet killed the Lamia he couldn't guess. however, they both seemed young, perhaps this was both their first times killing (on the Triste side) and the first time sensing danger (on the lamia's side). Hmm... that made things complicatedly uncomplicated. On the one hand, he could let her finish her job and only keep an eye on her, for precaution. On the other hand, he could assist her openly. Aboiye was torn between the two choices. He hated to see Lamia have the upper hand in anything, yet all Triste needed to have a hands on first time hunt, one where their metal was tested, and if he interfered he may be hindering her more than helping her. He sighed heavily, knowing at last which choice to make.
He decided to wait.
"Who's there?" Asked the Lamia, thus, Aboiye was forced to step forward into the moonlight. Thankfully he looked human enough. He could probably get away with an excuse such as wanting a stroll through the park because he couldn't sleep. It sounded human enough, and the logic was somewhat sound. But of course he didn't say anything. This was, after all, not his official hunt. He'd let the Triste-girl decide.

Krestal smiled, turning her face upwards just a little - she saw the thirst flash through his eyes for a moment, then something else - something that was almost longing but not quite. It was a different sort of attraction than a predator to pray. When she heard the twig snap under the man's weight - the man she'd just seen - she ignored it; because, as a human, she wouldn't have heard such a thing, especially not under the qualms of attraction. She gasped softly when his arm wrapped possessively around her waist. Then she leaned into the gesture, the blush on her cheeks deepening. She'd made contact with the man, and knew he would not harm her; but, she wasn't sure how this would add into her plan. [ Oh, what if when he bites her she doesn't poison him by some miraculous divine gesture? :3 Or he can just get slightly sick, but not die from it xD Coz I have this idea that when a vampire finds his/her soul mate both the vampire and the other can see into each others' souls? ]

((Sure, I have an idea on how to act that out as well. =) Hm, how about a rule; When soulmates occur between vampire + triste, how about the first bite is free? lol. Sorta like the vampire way of saying: "Find you!" XDD )) Ambrose paused for a moment, realizing his error. A human wouldn't know that somebody was there, not yet at least, even the twig snap wasn't very loud. His grip grew ever so lax about Krestal's waist. He smiled down at her gently, showing a human gesture of apology by shrugging his shoulders a little sheepishly while his eyes remained bold. Or, so he thought was a human gesture. He wasn't quite sure about it, he'd seen it done in one of their movies, but perhaps that wasn't the best place to gather information at. "Er, sorry, I thought I heard something, but it seems like no ones there," Ambrose said at last before quickly gesturing sharply to their left away from the Triste hiding in the shadows. Ambrose was getting a very bad feeling about this area, and most likely it was due to that man. Aboiye waited a moment longer for the Triste girl to do something, but she merely continued to play her part. When the lamia showed her where they were to go directionally next, Aboiye knew the moment was soon approaching when she would not be able to keep pretending, but it wasn't yet, so he waited patiently. There was one thought that was nagging him in the back of his mind, and it was the uneasy feeling he had when he saw how the lamia had jumped to possess the girl, rather than... pray upon her. He did not like the way she had responded so naturally to that. Unfortunately, the girl was obviously green, and thus he had to be patient with her as well. Not everyone could be natural about hunting on their first try...

[ OKAY! That's fantastic! : D ] Krestal nodded, smiling gently, "It's okay~" she laughed softly, "It happens a lot, I think. In the woods." Her words came out jumbled and nervous. She turned with him, watching his face intently, not sure if it was good for her to be away from someone else of her kind. She felt a kind of tension emanating from both Ambrose and the older Triste, and she knew it was kind of about her - oh well, that would get fixed shortly.

Aboiye's worry peaked as the game continued. He had never charmed a lamia before, nor tried to. The fact that someone else might try this approach seemed a little ludicrous from his point of view. Nigh four thousand years of training made it hard for him to except her hunting style, and what was she to do when it was a female lamia? Aboiye began to close the distance between them as the tension began to build. If the triste went beyond a certain point, then he would act despite the necessity for personal experience. When hunting, playing a little to long could become dangerous. On the other hand, his rational voice was telling him to wait a little longer, that a surprise was coming. She didn't feel out of it, she was merely acting her part... so far.
Ambrose chuckled in agreement. Yes, the woods knew how to play tricks on a persons mind. Yet, the man was still following, and closing the distance. Reflexively Ambrose's muscles became tense, waiting to spring into action. However, he played on ignoring the other beings presence. "Shouldn't you know best about the woods? Don't you live out in the middle of nowhere practically?" Ambrose replied, remembering with mild interest that she'd told him about living where it was quiet with not a lot of people, also near the woods... would she have to think about something like that? Ambrose sighed inwardly. Doubt was such a worrisome thing! And why did he have to be so cautious now? It was probably the followers fault, it was making him edgy, and his lamia instincts were coming into play more than usual.

Krestal nodded, "The middle of nowhere, yes, but not exactly in the woods." she laughed, her pace slowing. It was bothering her that the other Triste was following them, and even worse getting closer. Maybe if she slowed down and got into action, he would go away.

Ambrose frowned, noticing her slowing down. They were getting close to the outskirts of the city now, perhaps less than a half mile. He had a choice before him, he could take the girl now or he could wait, but with the thing following them it would become increasingly difficult to find a place to feed. Ambrose glanced down at Krestal, stopping their movement completely. "Krestal, I wonder, have you ever spent a night out in the woods?" Ambrose said, his voice dropping to a sweet seductive tone. He smiled charmingly, his eyes locking onto hers. He wondered if she had the strength to say no and save herself, for somehow, he could not stop himself now.
Aboiye froze as the lamia side of the being started to burst forth. The triste girl was on her own for now, he couldn't reveal himself completely yet though he was sure they knew he was there. Aboiye leaned against a tree, his eyes sharp for any slip ups or weak points. This anticipation wouldn't wait much longer. Action was just around the corner.

[ HAHAHAHAHAAA! What an implication that is. I forgive you for your cheesiness just because I can have Krestal flip out over that! -cling- ] Krestal made three mistakes all in one second: first, her breathing stopped and her heart raced when she saw the look on his face and heard that tone in his voice. Crap. Crapcrapcrapcrap. Krestal, calm down, she thought. Then, her second mistake came as a thought: He's just a vampire. Unfortunately for her, that thought was loud enough for him to pick up through her guise, because although the human Krestal was flustered, the Triste Krestal was suddenly incredibly nervous and mentally beating herself up for not just getting this over with. Her last mistake was: "No. I haven't even thought of it. Why do you ask?" It was spoken in a voice too calm for her expression and her aura, which was suddenly not so hidden. Make that four mistakes in two seconds. She was losing strength, just as he had wanted, but of course it didn't matter since he now could guess what she was. Crap. She thought again, then saw the other Triste freeze, watching intently.
Then, she kissed him. Yet another mistake β or was it?
[ see? I can match your cheesiness. ]

Ambrose stopped inwardly, and by stopped, of course it means he became completely focused onto one being: Krestal. For the time being she had been a completely normal person, other than the obvious lies she'd toss out at random, everything seemed normal, however, he had thought he'd heard the word "vampire" form in her mind. His bright eyes instinctively locked onto her, and not just her as in her eyes, but her essence. "Haven't you?" He replied, equally calm, feeling the air about him grow still. Strangely, he found himself angry, but not at the fact that Krestal was lying to him: he was angry because he'd fallen for the biggest lie of them all: she was not the prey he wanted. And then she kissed him. Ambrose immediately drew back, a snarl almost escaping his lips at being kissed by the enemy, except that his lips began to tingle in an odd sensation. He had the feeling of heat briefly touching his skin before flitting away. He was awe struck, dumbfounded, for about half of a half of a second before snapping back into his roll. The only difference was, this time he was the Lamia Ambrose instead of the human. The kiss hadn't deflected her slip up, it had merely changed his approach. Yet, in revealing his true self he made a fatal mistake for now the war was declared, and he had two hunters after him not just one.
"Well that cute of you Krestal," Ambrose replied drolly, taking a step forward, a mocking smile playing on his lips. "Tell me, was it your first? It was, then would you like me to give you a second? My offer to stay in the woods still remains." Especially if it means tasting your blood in victory, Whispered his vampiric side while inwardly her mourned having to play with her. He really did like Krestal... maybe he could let slide the fact that she wasn't... human?
Aboiye was horrified at the turn of events. She had kissed the Lamia. Now, war was declared, but on who's side was she on?
((=O you did match it! and I gave it back! >_< XD I think I like Ambrose when he's a cold flirt, sad to say, lol. And Aboiye... yeah.. he was to shocked to get much out of him. haha ))

[ HAHAHAHA! Aboiye makes me laugh. ] Krestal glared at him through her eyelashes, with blue-green eyes narrowed. "It was neither my first nor my last, but something in between." Her eyes flashed on his mouth quickly, and she smirked, dropping her facade just as he did. "But of course, if you really want to break a law or five, be my guest and give me another." Her tactic changed, immediately. If he hadn't made those offers, if he hadn't still kept his offer hanging, even though he had revealed himself as a hunter, then maybe things could have gone differently. Her expression softened just slightly, but her eyes still retained her eternal deer-in-the-headlights look. It was phenomenally innocent for a Triste, even if this were her first kill β which it wasn't. It was her third. If she could get him to bite her, even if it was against her own rules, it would certainly settle this. Even if he didn't drink too much, as long as he swallowed once the poison imbedded in her would slowly eat away at him, and kill him. She felt the shock rising from the other Triste and ignored it. This was her hunt now. Officially. She tilted her head to the side just slightly. "Staying in the woods doesn't mean sleeping in the woods, does it, Ambrose?" she asked, her tone matching the look in her eyes by default.
